Dr. Murray Baron is a native Montrealer and received his MD at McGill University in 1972. He studied Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia 1975 -78 and Rheumatology at University of Toronto 1978 – 1980. He had been principally a clinician who since 2004 has developed research interests especially in early inflammatory arthritis and scleroderma. He created the Canadian Scleroderma Research Group in 2004 which has included up to 17 rheumatologists in 11 Canadian cities, plus at least another 11 independent researchers. This group has published almost 100 scientific articles and has become world-renown for its work in this serious debilitating and life-threatening disease.
