Carter Thorne

Rheumatologist

Carter Thorne, MD, FRCP, FACP, MACR, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, and is Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket, Ontario. He is also Director of The Arthritis Program, an inter-professional care program established to optimize outcomes for people who have arthritis and rheumatic disorders. Dr. Thorne is a Principal Investigator with The Arthritis Program Research Group Inc. He also sits on the Steering and Scientific Committee of the Ontario Best Practices Research Initiative, and is a founding member and currently Secretary-Treasurer of the Canadian Rheumatology Research Consortium. He is a founding member and Past-President (2006-2010) of the Ontario Rheumatology Association, and was President of the Canadian Rheumatology Association from 2012-2014.
