Maureen Sauvé

Patient Advocate

Ex-President of the Scleroderma Society of Canada and the Scleroderma Society of Ontario, is a patient with a long history of being active in the Canadian Scleroderma Community.

Maureen Sauvé was president of both the Scleroderma Society of Ontario, and the Scleroderma Society of Canada until 2015. Since 2008, she has also been very active in the scleroderma research community as a patient collaborator with the Canadian Scleroderma Research Group. She paticipated in a group that drafted a consensus research agenda to address the psychological health needs of people living with scleroderma, co-authoring a publication based on that statement. Subsequently, she played an integral role in a joint effort of the SSC and the CSRG; the Canadian National Patient Survey on Health Concerns and Healthcare Needs. Recently, she has played a major role in the Scleroderma Patient-centered Intervention Network. She is a member of one of the project teams, is Chair of the Advisory Board, and is a member of the Steering Committee.
